Stop 5: Summit of Mount Evans Interpretive Site

Home

You have reached the summit at an elevation 14,130 feet (4,307 meters)!

The top of the road is a rejuvenating experience for the spirit and mind. The scenery, animals and history will blow you away! If you take the trail to the summit of Mount Evans, 14,264 feet (4338 meters), you can see most of the Continental Divide in Colorado. From the parking lot, Longs Peak, Denver, Pikes Peak and Mt. Bierstadt are all visible. Mountain goats lick minerals in the area and wander around the magnificent ruins of the Crest House restaurant and souvenir shop, which burned down in 1979.
